visit to timber world on kingsland road - 1:1 model

UK timber sizes are slightly different
2by4 inch nominal
= 1&1/2by3&1/2inch US
= 1&3/4by3&3/4 UK

timbers come in 4.m lengths

4by2inch costs £6
£1 per cut (if I wanted to have the timbers cut to smaller pieces, so I could fit them into car)

2by4 looked heavy

I will try 1by2 inch pine

and stack more of them if necessary. or make model 1:2

the young guy suggested use hardwood or laminated thin chipboard, cut in strips and bent.
he reckons stapling strips together into circle would work.

the old guy said. it would snap.
said it would have to be all laminated. and that is a lot of work and a lot of pounds.
and they are busy.

he said i need to have it figured out and come with sizes and all. that it would take time to sit down with someone to work it out.
and even if i dont want perfect circle, there would still be a lot of angles to be cut. and i have to have it worked out.

OK i say!
