I had no idea pavement were actually so wide to feel normal.
Lamp, sign and other post jump into the pavement from 0.5m to 1m into the
pavement, its still pretty generous. 


If I wanna use the tipis , presumably the post would jump into the pavement, 1m. 
means .5m would be sticking out into the road. - has to be high enough for all vehicles to pass under!
