Colonia Hermosa - new colonia, which has to be called subdivision now and new regulations apply to her.
i.e. the land has to be provided with infrastructure (water, sewage, electricity) prior to selling, below:

Blanka (above) showed us her Texas State office. She oversees service provision to all colonias in Texas:

The whole of the offices gathered around two courtyard within a maze of houses fronting on streets within the grid. Offices were connected on the ground through paths and above ground through walkways at first floor. There were mature trees and many benches and it didnt matter at all that the toilets were outside.

finished the day with screening of Ride your own dragon with local kids. some managed to play pocket wii aswell while watching the movie.

we woke up in the best value hotel with corridors guarded by homeless person and drove to Rio Grande

Priscilla first and then Blanka have answered almost all our questions.

Martas's "what is hour dream" question answered simply: we want space to walk.

Blanka ten took us to her house, which reminded me of houses of the "new rich" in my own country soon after the revolution.

I have to confess not quite what I expected from the horrific descriptions and definitions. This place was lovely in comparison. 3 bed 1 storey family house.

we didnt see much of the border, it was more or less private land with cattle, here and there a flying aircraft, sitting in the sky, observing, not much of walls, no people, not much military personnel, apart from in towns.

where we have met a retired military medic. desert storm and vietnam war veteran, he said it was horrible. He also said there were 700 archeological sites near around there and that there is a rich man, antropologist, who is buying the land to protect it. We said that was nice of him, for all of us.

Then there was a woman in the office who said, they had a mining right, or simmilar and that they can forbid anyone else, if they were to mine on their land, from running pipes through their land, she also said that if anything attacks your live stock, you have a right to kill it, so the neighbour killed 5 lions. special texan lions. I have forgotten the correct name, but they do look like lions.
