Heathrow to Houston, fly over Austin to land in Houston,
through customs to board a plane to Austin. And we did want to drive to Houston afterwards. ish.
then we picked a car :)
a biest
chevrolet suburban. we wanted to call it some sweet name.
and we started driving
no photo documentation as what was to come was an utter shock: the highway between Austin and San Antonio was one big shopping mall. I have never seen as many burger kings in my life!
Later we would have been told that americans rather build expensive flyovers then crossroads, so that you do not have to even take your foot of the accelerator.
In the evening we arrived at San Antonio. Probably the only city in the whole of Texas that has walkable downtown. We didnt know what a privillage we had then.
singer, trumpetist, pianins. very melodramatic multitasking with complete practicalities . sad proof that they did indeed play in this
bar every night.
